[News] Desktop is Out of Action

Once again, my poor desktop PC has been struck down by a virus, which means it'll need reformatting again...which will inevitably take a while as it's never straight forward.

It's a good job I have a laptop to fall back on!

Anyway, with that slight rant behind me, tomorrow marks the start of gamescom over in Germany, so it'll be interesting to see if any of the publishers decided to announce anything awesome that's on its way...perhaps something they weren't ready to announce at E3?

Last night I gave the demo of Scott Pilgrim Vs The World a go on the PS3 (360 version coming soon). If you've got a Playstation 3, then I'd heavily recommend giving the demo a download. It plays much like an old-school side-scrolling brawler, such as Golden Axe. They've purposely given it a pixelated visual look. Not only is it funky to look at and fun to play...it's also awesome to listen too as well! It supports 4 player local co-op, but however does not have any online multiplayer.

Speaking of multiplayer gaming...it's a shame I should mention that not having an online multiplayer is slightly disappointing. When I was growing up I didn't play games online...you didn't have the option too, it was all about getting some friends together and sitting in front of the same TV. I believe there is more fun to be had beating your friends at games when they are sitting next to you, although its very understandable that in some cases, this just isn't possible. Logistically its easier to play someone online...but...sometimes...it's great to organise a good old fashioned games evening!
